In-Depth Photo Illustrations
The staged illustration-The girl is walking her dog, and the dog is in a ball like the hamsters are. I like this picture because it looks like what you would see on the sidewalk, but then it isn’t.
The photo made into art-This photo looks like a painting.I like it because it looks mysterious and leaves you wondering who that person is and what he/she is doing.
The photo realistic alteration- the priest has done a sin and is now condemned. I like this picture because of how the red pops out.

It makes the building look really tall and mighty. The focus is incredible, the exposure could have been a little better. I think that if the light from the sun would have been brighter in the picture, it would have made it look 10 times better than it already does. The picture makes the building look like it has really unique and cool angles and shapes.
Architecture Preview

action photoshoot folow up
Sophomore Brandi C. takes a leap of faith Friday in the Akins courtyard. She was pretty brave to jump off of that huge rock while posing for a quick pic. Way to go Brandi!
Sophomore Brandi Campbell stops for a quick pose while playing soccer in the giant Akins courtyard. " I am so happy we have this incredible courtyard to do all sorts of activities in," Campbell explains " I love Akins, I love it!"
Sophomore Juan R. runs to class to avoid getting caught in the "Akins High clean sweep." He has to get all the way to the other side of the school campus in less than 1 minute. Can he make it? Don't think so!

news article
The 2009 Akins High cafeteria staff may work hard every day to prepare breakfast and lunches for the 2500 student population, plus some of the staff members, but not too many people are very flattered with what they prepare each and every day.
I personally am not too fond of the menu as well; I believe there could be some minor changes that would help to reduce some of the complaints starting off with adding a nice salad bar to the cafeteria and ending at better quality milk cartons.
“I do not like the cafeteria food at all. The pizza is greasy and the chicken in the sandwiches are stale,” Bobby Rodriguez said.
The majority of young teens can all agree that their school cafeteria can’t exactly be the # 1 gourmet restaurant in the city, but the food could at least have a better taste. Most high school students complain about their nasty lunch menus and nothing seems to change about it.
I asked Bobby if he had ever tried to do anything about the problem at hand and his response was “No, I haven’t. I should though, so I can enjoy my lunches.”
Although many complain about the bad cafeteria food, at least I was able to see that some people can find something positive out of a bad situation. There is usually at least one good item off of a horrible food menu that people can look forward to during their first 2 class periods, whether it is the fries or a roll, something is hopefully liked.
“If there was to be one thing that I wouldn’t change on the school menu, it would have to probably be those taco bowls, their tasty,” Rodriguez said.
In conclusion, this should be a message to all cafeteria staff to try and better the school lunch menus for almost everyone’s sake.

elements of news
Prominence
Some big new that’s been in magazines lately is that Chris Brown was arrested for domestic violence to Rihanna, his girlfriend. The violence took place in Chris’s Lamborghini while he was driving home from a party. Supposedly, Rihanna took Chris Brown’s phone to see if he was texting some girl and Chris starting beating her in the car while it being in motion.
Conflict
The Austin Police are looking for a guy who robbed at 4 four business’s at gunpoint. He committed two robberies last night. They have not caught the guy yet.
Proximity
It was talking about the staff and student issues with the new tardy sweeps. The students are complaining about the new tardy saying that it’s not fair for the ones who have only been tardy one time. The Akins staff likes these sweeps though because the number of students being tardy has dropped a lot.
Consequence
Lately, I have been getting of task a lot lately in class and not doing my work. This affects only me, causing my grades to drop pretty badly.
Human Interest
There’s been a story that pretty much everyone has heard about, the girl who was burned alive on Mardi gras night. It is a very sad event that I hope had not taken place. They have yet to find her killer, but I hope they are coming close each and every hour.
Oddity
A women reportedly called 911 a whooping three complaining that her local McDonald’s had run out of chicken McNuggets. The women stated that she paid for her nuggets and wanted to get her money back since they didn’t have them but was told by the cashier that she couldn’t get her money back. The lady was charged for misuse of a 911 call.

Best of 2008
I think it should be photo of the year because it's a fascinating picture. All of the top runners from mostly every country is battling against each other which is super cool!
Italian soccer club AC Milan's newly signed player Ronaldinho of Brazil attends his presentation at San Siro Stadium in Milan, Italy on July 17, 2008. (REUTERS/Alessandro Garofalo) # (for those who claim this image has been digitally altered, here is a larger detail of the photo - the halo is from backlighting, not photoshop)
I think this picture should be it because it's a really cool picture.
A general view shows a "solucar" solar park in Sanlucar La Mayor, near Seville, Spain on November 6, 2008. The solar thermal power plant uses mirrors to concentrate the sun's rays onto the top of a 100 meter (300 foot) tower where it produces steam to drive a turbine, producing electricity. I think this picture should be picture of the year because it shows that we need to start using the solar panels and stop wasting electricity! This picture has a meaning behind it.
My favorite song was burning up by the Jonas brothers because i like that song & the Jonas brothers don't really have that many good songs, and this is a really good song.
Fish Pedicures
Some women, it seems, will do anything for beautiful feet — even use them as fish food. The practice of plunging feet into a tub of tiny carp called garra rufa, which nibble on dead skin, was popular in some Asian countries and became an American craze after John Ho, a Virginia salon owner, announced he had offered the treatment to 5,000 customers over a four-month period. Soon, pedicurists all over the country were ordering thousands of the fish, which are said to help soften the skin in advance of normal, human-administered pedicures. Unfortunately for some salon owners who had already ordered the fish, Washington and Texas quickly banned the practice on sanitary grounds. Ho, however, is still going strong with his "Dr. Fish Massage" for the feet.
